Limited Educational Opportunities

As a business owner and member of the community it present in my mind is the  glaring lack of schooling options in the High Desert. The primary means of educating our children remains in control of the Monrongo Basin School District and more specifically Twentynine Palms Public School system; with limited Private Schooling opportunites. The main alternative is Joshua Springs School which is located in Yucca Valley, not an extreme distance from Twentynine Palms, however still a decent commute. Although the Twentynine Palms Public School system has some outstanding teachers and programs, there are some areas that do not receive the same attention and funding that a private school may be able to offer. As an adult that attended private schooling almost exclusively, I understand the pro's and con's present in the debate between public and private schooling. Having attended High School at a public institution I have seen the benefits of public schooling as well as having dealt with the over crowded classes, lack of resources, and discrepancies in student materials. Not all of these are issues that are not present in Private Schooling, however there is typically far more latitude and funding to provide a higher level learning environment and programs that are conducive to learning. With this being said, I have created this blog in an attempt to gain insight into the public opinion on a demand for private schooling. I hope to be able to continue to build this site with the support of other parties to provide and interactive environment where we can discuss education, desires, and opinions, with the out come being the determination of the viability of a private schooling option here in Twentynine Palms. Please feel free to utilize the polling I have set up as well as entering comments in the public forum. For additional questions and comments register with my site and I will attempt to respond to inquires and comments.
